25,000th Big Dog Motorcycle
Rolls Off Production Line
New 2009 Wolf represents achievement recently reached by the
leading premium motorcycle manufacturer
WICHITA, KS (October 22, 2008) – Big Dog Motorcycles®, the leading manufacturer of high performance, high style motorcycles, announced that it has built its 25,000th motorcycle. First unveiled at the company’s recent dealer meeting, the patriotically-painted 2009 Wolf will now be the centerpiece of the company’s show truck display at major motorcycle rallies and dealer events throughout the model year.
“It is with great pride we celebrate this outstanding achievement for Big Dog Motorcycles, a company renowned for its performance and style,” said Sheldon Coleman, company founder and CEO. “We look forward to many more milestones as we continue to satisfy motorcycling enthusiasts who have long looked to Big Dog to deliver unsurpassed excellence.”
Big Dog Motorcycles began in 1994 in Coleman’s garage in Wichita, Kansas. Since then, the company has grown to 150,000 square feet with its line of motorcycles, accessories, and apparel sold nationwide through nearly 100 dealers. The company plans to distribute its motorcycles in Canada by the end of the year and seeks more international distribution through 2009.
“This is no doubt an uplifting note for Big Dog Motorcycles to kick off its 15th year with our 25,000th motorcycle,” Coleman continued. “The company continues to amaze me. To be the first premium motorcycle manufacturer to experience such a great achievement, together with a fresh 2009 line-up with three all-new models and international distribution just weeks away demonstrates the continued strength of the company and our investment in the future.”
The celebrated motorcycle is a 2009 Wolf™, horizon white with custom handpainted patriotic graphics donning the tank, fenders, swing arm, and even the frame. The bike also sports a 25,000th emblem on the top of the tank.
“We chose the all-new Wolf for such an honor because it was introduced this year and, with its new engine, radical swing arm, single down tube, drive side brake, and other high style features, tremendously demonstrates our design capabilities and our commitment to meeting market and consumer demands,” commented Paul Hansen, Marketing Director.
“In addition, the Wolf represents our ability to attract new customers to the brand by showcasing a unique combination of riding characteristics and refined styling. We anticipate great success for this model and designating one our 25,000th motorcycle is a complement to its potential in the marketplace and its place in our history,” Hansen continued.
“Our continued presence in the motorcycle market proves customer acceptance of our bikes while the 25,000th clearly elevates Big Dog Motorcycles to the leading position. Demand for high performance, high style motorcycles continues and, with our dedicated network of dealers, suppliers, and employees, we are extremely well-positioned to get thousands more on the road,” Coleman added.
